Can Sun’s practice spans photography, video, installation, jewellery, and text. His works often begin with everyday objects, simple gestures, or subtle interventions. By rearranging, altering, and reconfiguring relationships between familiar things, he shifts meanings that once seemed fixed. For Can, meaning is not an inherent property of objects, but something that continually emerges through the relationships they enter, giving rise to visual structures that are poetic, restrained, and quietly humorous.

 

Time, relationships, desire, existence, personal growth, and the pursuit of self-fulfilment are recurring themes throughout Can’s practice. These concerns emerge from lived experience and continue to evolve alongside different stages of his life. His work is both an ongoing reflection on these changing stages and an attempt to transform personal experience into a shared one.
